Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan

Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief is an amazing book, packed with adventures and I loved it straight away.

‘Look I didn’t want to be a half blood. I never asked to the son of a Greek God.’

Percy Jackson was an ordinary kid, like any other teenager until he vaporized his maths teacher and discovered his friend Grover was a satyr. Percy is the son of Poseidon.

Quote from brother: ‘my favorite scene is when Percy Jackson controls the bathroom – its really funny. As the son of the Sea God he is able to control the water in the bathroom and he sprays water all over Clarisse (his arch enemy).’

I would recommend to anybody between 8 and 13.

‘It’s Buffy Meets Artimis Fowl. Thumbs up.’ Sunday Times

Read on to find out about Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters which is the next book in the series.
